Victory

 • Series: Paul's Prayer For Today's Church

"We have a King who already reigns. His Kingdom is already here, and the victory has already been won." Don't miss this Easter message from Pastor Jeff! Message Notes: MAIN TEXT: Colossians 1:13-14, 2:13-15 The Birth of Christ was Heaven’s D-Day invasion. This was the day that Heaven invaded Earth. John 1:5 describes this invasion as light coming into darkness, and when this light invaded earth, the darkness couldn’t comprehend it, nor extinguish it. Matthew 4:17 Jesus confirms this invasion, as He declares that the Kingdom of Heaven is not coming, it is here. Revelation 1:18 KJV I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.  The word “Translated.” gives us a picture of what is called a Triumphal procession. The word for handwriting or a list of charges, is a word that literally means an autograph. Ephesians 2:1-3 NLT 1 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. 2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil- the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. 3 All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God's anger, just like everyone else.  God wiped the record of our sins so completely, it was as if our sins had never happened. The record of the debt, nailed to a board, was to show everyone that the debt had been paid in full. The word spoiled gives us a picture of Jesus stripping the weapons and the armor from a defeated foe. Here is our accuser, who accuses us day and night, who now must watch us as the spoils of God’s great plan of salvation, are paraded in front of him. We have a King who already reigns. His Kingdom is already here, and the victory has already been won.
